Something I didn't anticipate.

My days off were Tuesday and Wednesday and I was planning on spending my days off by doing laundry, going to Walmart, and then going a park. On Tuesday me, Chrissy, and Erin, went to Magic Kingdom for a few hours then went to Downtown Disney so we could have dinner at Earl of Sandwich. The food there is really good but as soon as we left and got into the parking lot, I didn't feel very well. I felt kind of nauseous. I hadn't been feeling like myself for the last couple of days so I just kind of blew it off but when I got home, I felt really sick.

I took a shower to try to make myself feel better but it didn't help. Almost as soon as I got out of the shower, I got sick. I spent the rest of my night pretty much in the fetal position because my stomach hurt so badly, occasionally getting sick, and sleeping on the bathroom floor. It wasn't a pleasant night. I thought I just had food poisoning though and that I would be better by the next morning.

I wasn't.

Although I wasn't getting sick anymore, I literally had no energy. I couldn't stand up for two minutes without feeling like I was going to pass out and even drinking water was a hard thing to do. I didn't eat anything until around 11:00 that night because I didn't have the energy to get out of bed to walk into the kitchen. Needless to say, I didn't do my laundry or make it to Walmart that day. I slept literally all day and all night.

I knew I had to go to the doctor though so today my roommate took me to a walk in clinic and I called in sick to work, which means I got a point. It turns out I have a low grade fever and an E. coli infection. The body can usually fight off infections like that but since I had already had a cold for three weeks, my immune system was really weak. So the doctor prescribed me some medicine that will fight the infection, he gave me a nausea shot, and put me on a really specific diet so I eat and drinks stuff like saltine crackers, mashed potatoes, and Gatorade.

My roommate told me she would take me to CVS and Walmart after work to get the prescription filled and to get the food I needed, so I slept for the rest of the day until she got home. She came back at around 9:30, I went to an ATM to get some cash, and we set out to find a CVS. Unknowingly, we went to two CVS's with pharmacies that closed at 9:00. At the second CVS we asked if they could call another location to see if my prescription was in stock and when they did, the person from the other store said they couldn't release the information because the medicine I was prescribed was a controlled substance.

So we drove all the way over to another CVS and when we asked about the drug being a controlled substance, they told us it wasn't and that someone had given us the wrong information. It was really annoying. At that point I was about to fall over from exhaustion but we still had to go to Walmart. Thankfully a Walmart was close by so we spent about an hour shopping and now we're back home.

One thing I would recommend getting before you come down here are vitamins. Even if you eat a balanced diet now, you still run a really high risk of getting sick and you really don't want that here. I'm not entirely sure I can go into work tomorrow which is a hard truth to swallow because I have a good shift and I need the money, but obviously my health is much more important than anything else.

So hopefully things start to turn around a little bit now that I have medicine and nutritious food. I hope that I can go to work tomorrow but if not I'm going to ask Deployment if there is any way I can get the points taken off of my record card if I have a doctor's note or something. I'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.
